How We Are Dealing With Covid-19

As announced by our President Cyril Ramaphosa on Sunday, 15 March 2020, South Africa is in a state of disaster - but we can get through this. We have highlighted a number of ways how we intend to keep our cleaners and clients safe during this pandemic. Based on the current information we have, this is what we are doing:

OUR CLEANERS:
  • We have communicated information about Covid-19 (Coronavirus) as provided by the World Health Organisation (WHO)

  • We have made cleaners aware of symptoms of the virus - fever, cough or have difficulty breathing.

  • Informed our cleaners to inform us and thereafter stay home should they have any of these symptoms or have been in contact with someone who they suspect to have the coronvirus.

  • In light of the above, we have encouraged cleaners to self isolate for a minimum of 14 days

  • We have given cleaners the toll free number and encouraged the necessity to contact this number should they experience any symptoms.

  • We have shared ways that cleaners can protect themselves from the virus (as provided by the WHO) - sanitize before and after entering public transport, sanitize/wash hands upon entry and exit of a clients home, notify SweptUp should a client be self isolating or have symptoms of the virus and additional tips to take into account on a daily basis.

OUR CLIENTS:
  • Should you feel ill, have symptoms of the virus or recently have been in contact with someone who may have the virus or may have been in contact with someone who has the virus, we encourage you to self-isolate and not make a booking, or postpone or cancel your booking if you have made one

  • Should you cancel a booking, we encourage you to not request a refund or at least accept part thereof a refund. Ultimately, you are entitled a refund if it meets current Terms and Conditions. However, requesting full refunds will have an adverse affect on these ladies who are already struggling to deal with the pandemic and thus rely on income to survive day-to-day.

  • Give your cleaner the opportunity to sanitize upon arrival to your home

  • Allow your cleaner to come in slightly later in the morning and depart slightly earlier in the afternoon - the less contact that your cleaner is exposed to, lessens the likelihood of her being exposed to Covid-19

If you haven't seen it yet, see our message to you as posted on our social media.

We thank you for your continued support during this time. We are all in this together, and the only way through is support by you, me, and the entire community.
